The Seventh Ray has a tight, sealed ostiole ( eye ) that helps preserve its interior from insects and spoilage—a key trait for both fresh eating and drying.
Upon slicing open the fruit, you're met with a violet stain along the inner skin and a crimson red inner flesh, rich and glistening like a jeweled garnet. The flavor is intensely complex: a luxurious blend of mixed berries—blackberry, raspberry, and a hint of wild strawberry—layered with subtle floral undertones and a whisper of spice. It's both bold and refined, with a lingering finish that dances on the palate.
