Guavaberry

Discovered by Sacred Origin in 2019, Guavaberry is a striking fig seedling found near the Amrita fig in a grove of seedlings and may be a close relative. The main crop is prolific, producing large, visually stunning fruits with a beautiful green exterior and deep ruby-colored flesh.

Flavor is where Guavaberry truly shines: the first bite reveals bright, tropical notes of guava, strawberry, and mango, layered with subtle hints of floral hibiscus. Larger fruits carry a rare, rich, concentrated flavor with a pleasant citric strawberry tang balanced by natural sweetness. The large, closed eye helps protect the fruit, and preliminary observations suggest it may be resistant to splitting in rainy conditions, making it an especially promising variety for challenging climates.

Still under evaluation, Guavaberry shows excellent potential as both a flavorful eating fig and a reliable producer.
