Vajra Niguma

Vajra Niguma produces striking green fruit with a deep ruby-red interior, celebrated for its intense berry flavor and thick, jam-like pulp. A high-end cultivar prized for both exceptional taste and vigorous growth.

Discovered among mixed seedlings in Northern California, this selection quickly distinguished itself through its impressive size, strong vigor, and uniquely complex fruit. Its giant, serrated leaves further set it apart, adding to its commanding presence.

It is not yet known whether Vajra Niguma is a common fig, and it will likely remain rare, as the original mother tree is no longer available.

The name reflects the fruit’s depth, clarity, and elevated character—qualities that rise above standard berry-type figs. “Vajra,” a Sanskrit word meaning thunderbolt, evokes both power and brilliance, much like the bold, striking leaves that leave a lasting impression.
