Weeping Apple Pie

Sacred Origin’s Weeping Apple Pie is a large yellow fig that oozes amber-colored honey and delivers a rich apple-pie filling flavor. This distinctive variety shows a pronounced “weeping” crown—likely due to the heavy fruit set—something rarely seen in figs. It also produces a pleasing breba crop (see last photo). Figs can often be found in double on every node. Growers report that even outside wasp-pollinated regions, the fig retains its caramelized apple-pie taste, as both the breba and main crop develop without pollination. The original mother tree is a unique seedling with a compact, stocky form—wide rather than tall—suggesting a semi-dwarf growth habit that makes it well suited for container culture. Overall, the tree is an exceptionally prolific producer.
