Black Dawn

This tree has been under evaluation for some time. I hope to have more definitive information on weather or not it requires the wasp for pollination, but thus far, figs have held when double bagged/netted. I need more confirmation though before claiming it is common.

This fig tree is found in a grove of possibly hundreds of wild fig trees that seem to extend almost a half of a mile along a long stretch of historically rich mining area. This tree is found in the same grove where Guavaberry, Amrita,Tropical Goldenberry and Golden Dawn now known as Honey Pear are found. The diversity of this grove is incredible. There are several male capri one of which I offered many years ago.... a rimada male that is huge and loaded with pollen. I plan to investigate this area more in the near future, there is just so much that its overwhelming.

This black beauty has a really deep red interior that tastes of mouthwatering cherry berry richness. A true gift to the senses. A tight eye and prolific harvest. What more can you ask for? The pictures speak for themselves.
