Arcturus Noir

A beautiful and distinctive seedling discovered by Sacred Origin, Arcturus Noir produces dark purple figs with an elegant, exotic appearance. The fruit has a tight, clean eye, and in observation to date, the figs have shown excellent resistance to spoilage, with none of the fruit observed becoming sour or spoiled through the eye.

The skin is thin and tender, giving way to a rich, juicy interior with an enticing tropical berry character. Flavor is complex and concentrated, combining deep berry sweetness with tropical fruit notes and layers that develop as the fig ripens. Rich, intensely sweet, and wonderfully complex, Arcturus Noir has the kind of flavor that makes it stand out among seedlings.

Pollination status: It is currently unknown whether Arcturus Noir is common (persistent) or requires pollination by the fig wasp. Further growing and observation will be needed to determine whether the fruit develops fully without pollination.

A promising and beautifully named seedling with excellent eating qualities and a particularly attractive fruit. Arcturus Noir is still under evaluation as its characteristics continue to be documented.
