Cherry Jelly Roll
A beautiful, rather large fig with deep purple skin that ripens to an almost black hue, revealing a vibrant red interior reminiscent of cherry jelly. The flavor is rich, smooth, and dessert-like, immediately placing it among the more memorable figs of the grove.
This fig was discovered as a wild seedling in the same grove that produced Pink Lemonade, Lemonade, Raspberry Lemonade, and the other Jelly Roll selections, suggesting a shared lineage and distinctive flavor family. It has demonstrated its reliability by producing fruit in Thailand without the presence of the fig wasp, indicating a common fig type.
This is a brand-new release that continues the Jelly Roll theme—bold in flavor, visually striking, and full of promise as it reveals more of its character over time.
A prolific early breba crop is surely a nice treat to start the season off right.
